What I Will Do as Your Congressman
One vote doesn’t change everything. But one person who refuses to play the shell game can make the rest of them uncomfortable.
Here’s my commitment to you.
FIRST! Before my term even begins… I will travel to all of these “evil dictatorships,” Iran, Cuba, Palestine, Russia (pretty sure there’s room on a couple credit cards 😅). The corporate media is the primary influence on why Americans think these places are to be feared and/or hated…and I’m going to show you that they’ve been lying all along. It’s been a psy-op the whole time. How else could we keep the military-intelligence-industrial-complex funded if you weren’t terrified of a foreign threat? You think a Congressman-elect would be in danger walking their streets, learning about their ways of life and world views? We’re going to find out.
1. I will never vote for an immoral, unjustifiable, especially unwinnable war. War is reserved for the worst worst case scenario, only when the worst case scenario isn’t achievable.
Article I of the Constitution gives Congress — not the president — the power to declare war. Every president since Truman has ignored this. Every Congress has let them.
I will not.
If a president bombs another country without a congressional declaration of war, I will vote to cut off funding. I will co‑sponsor every War Powers resolution that comes to the floor. And I will force recorded votes so you know who is abdicating their duty and who is not.
And I will be on TV every night or lighting a bonfire on the capitol steps exposing the shell games in Congress that allow the president to push us further toward the abyss.
2. I will co‑sponsor and fight for the “America First Production Act.”
That means a binding, 20‑year plan to close 400 overseas military bases — 20 per year — and reinvest half the savings in American infrastructure. Roads. Bridges. Rail. Broadband. Energy.
Not because I’m anti‑military. Because I’m pro‑America. We have 800 bases in 80 countries. We don’t need to project power everywhere to be strong at home.
4. I will give workers the first right of refusal — and make Election Day a federal holiday.
When a company closes, workers shouldn’t be the last to know and the first to lose.
Right now, when a business is about to shut down or be sold off, workers have almost no say. The owner sells to the highest bidder — often a private equity firm that strips the assets and closes the doors — or just locks up and walks away. The workers find out when they show up and the gates are closed.
That’s probably not what our forefathers in the labor struggle who died by the hundreds would have envisioned 100 years after they stood up to the Pinkertons. And it’s not how we treat the people who actually make the products and provide the services.
Here’s what I will fight for:
- Co‑sponsor and fight for the Employee Ownership Financing Act, which gives workers the right of first refusal before a plant closes or a company is sold. If the boss wants to shut down or cash out, the workers get the first chance to buy it.
- Create a federal bridge loan program — modeled on the American Ownership and Resilience Act — to provide low‑interest, government‑guaranteed loans to employees forming worker cooperatives or Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). No worker should have to drain their 401(k) to save their own job.
- Expand the Department of Labor’s Employee Ownership Initiative to provide free technical assistance, legal support, and business planning to any group of workers who want to buy their company.
And we have to fix how we vote.
Right now, millions of Americans can’t vote because they can’t get off work. That’s not democracy — that’s a poll tax on time.
- I will co‑sponsor the Election Day Act to make Election Day a federal holiday, alongside Columbus Day and Veterans Day.
- In the absence of a federal holiday, I will push for paid voting leave for all workers, so no one has to choose between a paycheck and a ballot.
4. I will hold the defense budget accountable — line by line.
The Pentagon has never passed a clean audit. They lose track of trillions. I will vote against any defense appropriations bill that doesn’t include:
- A full, independent audit of overseas bases
- A ban on funding for unauthorized military actions
- A reduction in nuclear weapons spending
- A requirement that all major weapons systems be justified for defensive purposes only
5. I will refuse AIPAC, DMFI, JStreet and all other zionist money. I will disclose every dollar.
AIPAC is the single largest donor to Jim Costa. They gave him $93,000 in 103 separate payments last cycle alone. It looks like they’ve put another $350,000 in this cycle, according to trackaipac.com. They buy foreign policy.
I will not take a dime from them. I will publish every contribution over $200 on my website within 48 hours. And I will co‑sponsor legislation to ban foreign‑government‑affiliated PACs from contributing to U.S. elections entirely.
6. I will hold hearings — not speeches.
As one congressman, I can’t subpoena alone. But I can demand hearings. I can force uncomfortable votes. I can use the floor to read the names of children killed by our bombs. I can make them sit there and listen.
I will call for hearings on:
- The civilian death toll in every U.S. military action
- The influence of AIPAC and foreign lobbies on congressional votes
- The failure to audit the Pentagon
- The legality of the Iran war under Article I
7. I will create a “Sovereignty Caucus.”
Not left. Not right. Just constitutional. A caucus of members who agree that Congress must reclaim its war powers, that foreign policy should not be for sale, and that the American people deserve to know when their government is about to start another war.
We will be small. We will be loud. And we will be a pain in the ass to leadership.
8. I will bring the truth home.
Every month, I will hold a town hall focused on foreign policy. Not a lecture — a conversation. I will show you the maps of our 800 bases. I will walk through the budget line by line. I will answer your questions honestly, even when the answer is “I don’t know.”
And I will never, ever tell you that war is the only option.
What I cannot promise:
I cannot single‑handedly stop the empire. I cannot defund the military‑industrial complex overnight. I cannot make 434 other members grow a spine.
But I can be one voice that refuses to lie. One vote that refuses to go along. One congressman who answers to you — not to AIPAC, not to Lockheed Martin, not to the party whip.
No Democrats. No Republicans. Just us.
