In California, only people literally behind bars FOR A FELONY cannot vote.

I’ve you’ve finished your felony time, you can vote.

If you’re in jail for a misdemeanor, you can vote.

If you haven’t registered, you can vote.

Any resident of California, ex-felon or not, can show up to a polling place, complete the same-day registration process, and cast a ballot. They call it a “provisional ballot,” but that just means they count it last. But it’s a ballot like everyone else’s, and it get’s counted.

If you’re an ex-felon or think there’s any other reason you can’t vote, just look it up. You can vote just like everybody else. Duh, you’re a citizen just like everybody else and you paid your debt to society.

Find your polling place: (or just go to your county elections office…early in-person voting/registering already started) https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/polling-place
