The live-streamed genocide was the last, last, last straw. I’d already stopped voting for, or contributing to, Democrats two cycles before. But the genocide we perpetrated in Gaza was worse than the worst thing I could have possibly imagined that my county could continue to do, times 1,000,000.
Of course, now our eyes have been opened to the kinds of inhuman, immoral acts that are unfortunately common in the way that the empire treats the Global South.
Never Again was supposed to be our path forward, internationally, It was not reserved for one people or one region.
We have the resources, we have the wherewithal. We don’t need to behave like rabid, wild beasts.
